First of all, if you know absolutely nothing about keeping pets and dogs in particular and you're interested in having a Frenchie for a pet, this is a great book to pick up. The book is well written, reads easy and give you the basic info.To me it was disappointing as a large part of the book is general common sense and applicable to all dogs,and the part which is Frenchie related can be found on Wikipedia, the author doesn't add real value there. You could just change the chapters on the breed and breed specific health issues and... *Ca-shing* another book for Dummies.

This is a great starter book for anyone considering a Frenchie as a new addition to their family. Easy to read, basic info covering everything from the breed's history to health problems and how to know if you've found a reputable breeder. This breed is skyrocketing in popularity due to tv and movies featuring them, which unfortunately means more dogs end up in rescues. This is a good, realistic review of what to expect from your Frenchie and what your Frenchie will expect of you, as an owner. A wise gift for anyone considering bringing home one of these little cuties.....as they DO grow up!!
